Trace Global supports both Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Business Central. In Finance, we read vendor invoice and payment data through OData data entities, and use Data Management Framework packages for large history loads. In Business Central, we use the standard API v2.0 purchase invoice and vendor payment endpoints.
Authentication uses a Microsoft Entra ID app registration with permissions granted by your administrator. We request read access to vendor transactions, and write access only if you want audited invoices created for you.
Outbound invoices arrive as pending vendor invoices with financial dimensions set, so they follow your existing workflow.
How the data feeds the audit
- Find duplicate payments across legal entities for the same utility account.
- Measure late fees by comparing settlement dates with utility due dates.
- Spot utility invoices coded to sites that are closed in your dimension values.
- Confirm utility credits and refund checks were recorded against the vendor.
Setup
- 1Register the Trace Global app in Microsoft Entra ID.
- 2Grant the app access to your Dynamics 365 environment with a limited security role.
- 3Select the legal entities and utility vendors in scope.
- 4Run the history load and reconcile it to captured bills.
- 5Enable outbound invoice creation if needed.
